MTC

We arrived home late
one night from the
MTC and these hearts
with messages on
them from the ward
were all on our window.
We loved reading them.

Our name tags in Russian..
Little scarey!!! But Gene
can actually read them..

Office couples trying to learn the office system..

Our class with our two fun teachers in front..

Well it is almost here. We were set apart on the July 11th by Pres. Thomason. Then we went to the MTC on the 12th. It is being remodeled so they were having seniors stay at the Super 8. Gene and I just decided to drive back and forth. It made for very long days. We left the house at 7a.m. and got home about 9:30p.m. But the MTC was wonderful. We loved being with the young elders and sisters. They are so happy and kind. We could just feel of their sweet spirits. We learned many things. Preach My Gospel for one week and then office trainning the 2nd week. We would spend from 6:00p.m to 8:00 p.m. learning Russian. We feel we have learned a litttle bit. We have kind of enjoyed learning the language. Gene has learned the alphabet and it is really hard. So he is doing especially good.
We made many good friends with other senior couples. Our friends the Springers were there. We were so surprised to see them. They are going to Norway.
It has been a very spiritual week. We have felt the Lords hand in many things we have been taught.
We so love our sweet family and all our dear friends. We know all your prayers are helping us so much. Know they are felt.

Well the time is getting so close. We have had to get through a few trials the last couple of months. I had a tooth that broke and it took surgery to fix it. Then I had to have a bridge made. My shoulder decided to not work and give me lots of pain for awhile and then I had some ear problems. Gene got a bad toothache that ended up having a root canal. It did not go as expected and he ended up having surgery on it also. When he went back to get the stitiches out the tooth next to it was hurting and he had to have a root canal on it also. But we think we have passed the test on those trials. (Hopefully they are all done)
We will be set apart this Sunday night the 11th and then we will go to the MTC for 10 days on Monday the 12th. We have our church talk on Sunday the 18th. Then we will leave for Russia on Monday the 26th at 9a.m. I am really nervous and scared and Gene is excited.
We will keep this blog updated once we get settled in Russia so that we can keep our family and friends updated. We love you all so much and will miss you all...
